Baba Yaga: Designing the set

19 Oct ’23

Hear what designer Bek Palmer has to say about Baba Yaga.

What is your role in the production of Baba Yaga?
I’m the Designer for Baba Yaga

What does that mean in terms of your contribution to the show?
I make decisions on how everything looks on stage and for this show, I have also made some of the props that are used to tell the story.

What do you hope audiences will experience when they come to see the show?
I hope they will get a little bit scared but find lots to laugh at.

Why do you think this is an important story for children and families now?
I think it provides an opportunity for children to really use their imagination and become immersed in a story world and maybe they will see something of themselves in the characters.
